Every year Indians wait for the months of October or November. Why? Coz that's when we have one of the biggest Hindu festivals - Deepawali or Diwali!
Like most of us, I too love this festival.
Not for the crackers - those I stopped burning at the age of 13! But I do have fond memories of putting rangoli with my sister, decorating the house with lamps or diyas, Papa putting up colourful lights and making sweets!
After many years, the tradition in our house still remains the same - of course my sister moved to her own home, yet I continue the tradition of making the rangoli, and then helping Papa with decorating the house with the diyas & then looking back at the after effect of the lighted diyas! Just so beautiful!!
Of course, the crackers bursting in the neighborhood gives a earache and heartache too, not to forget the pollution caused in the air!
Diwali day in the country is the most polluted day, and yet people do not understand the dire consequences!
Anyways, another year gone by and another Festival of Lights has gone thus bringing the year end closer for new memories in the coming year!
